Re: Arturia limited edition NOIR MINI/DRUMBRUTES

These are cool. I had a fair bit of love for the Drumbrute and the Mini/Micro but for some reason I found myself not playing them as often as other stuff. I’m the same with Korg. I think it’s just because they’re a bit too far away from my preferred synth sound. I sold mine a couple of years ago whe...

Re: Machine heads!

The higher the ratio the better. I have a few with locking tuners and I don’t think they make much difference most of the time. Tho less wraps = better tuning stability with trem use. Preowned tuners are a nightmare as they’ll often look essentially the same. Cheaper OEM Grovers like you’d get on ch...

Re: Decals and making 'em look good

The only real success I’ve had with a similar decal was by properly burying it in clear coat. It was on a partscaster I put together for one of my mates. It took a few of coats, the first one focusing around the decal to raise the level up at the edge of the decal a bit. Second and third coat to mel...

Re: pictures of your guitars here

These are super handy. I have a similar one that sits under my StringSwing rack. They’re OK. They are stuck together with the minimal amount of welds. They’re secure enough if you’re not moving it around.

Re: Toltec Jaguar Pickups

Loved the video. The pickups have the same sort of average sound (pretty much like the Jazzmaster ones). Not what I think of as very Jaguar like sound, tho probably a good all-rounder sound wise, possibly better for a lot of different applications.

More of a sidegrade than an upgrade.

Re: 2022 gear goals

I’d like to get a decent pedalboard put together, with a more carefully curated board than I’ve put together previously. I aim to continue to cut down guitars, replacing multiples with something a bit more special wherever possible. As far as stuff I’d like to acquire, maybe a ebony 355 or a LP Cust...

Re: pictures of your shortscales

The Player Jag has already been booted. I got it as a sweetener on a trade deal. I traded it for that Vintera Mustang cos I knew someone who was looking for one. I then traded that for an old Strat Plus Deluxe(sacrilege, I know).

Love the Fiesta Red. I’ve often been tempted to do a matching headstock on mine.

Re: Finishing a high school project

A Tele bridge/pickup and a P90 would be cool. They look neat on a small body cos you won’t need any pickup ring fir the P90, the Tele bridge is great on smaller guitars too. A nice touch of chrome/nickel too, if the pots and switch are coming to be top mounted. I’m looking forward to seeing this one...

Great score!! Those are great. They sound just like the Rogue for a fraction of the cost. I love the styling of them.

Re: NGD Eastman T386

You said that far better than my attempt, thanks. I know you get a lot of people who buy a guitar, say an Epiphone and they say “it’s a Gibson killer!’ That’s usually partly new guitar excitement, but it might also actually be the best guitar that person has owned. A lot of those folk have never own...

Re: 2021: A Year in Gear

How do you find the 2600? I've always wanted one and the Behringer one seem's to be a good version of it. It’s really good but you need to have your boffin brain on to operate it. Hardly anything is on a switch but it has loads of options for creating sounds. Even thins like the other waveforms are...

The styling is great. I love that neck with the blacked out look. The silver in the grain is a genius touch.
