I have one: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7314/12626230574_1fe7a29a87_b_d.jpg I love it. It's a great guitar. Well built, and the stock pickups are fantastic. Really the only thing wrong is that Squier made it fugly. Fiesta red is a nice colour, but adding cheap printed tort plus zebra coil pickups ...

It will cost you very little money to just buy a Squier Mustang. If it works out for you as it is, keep it. You can swap the neck with your MIJ just to try it. You're clearly not opposed to buying a neck with the Squier badge on it, so why not just buy a Squier Mustang? Just upgrade pickups and it ...

I'd rather not swap the necks on the two guitars, as both have really good setups and I don't want to mess them up. However if no one has first hand experience that they can share, that's what I'll eventually do to figure it out. If/when I do I will post my findings. If they don't fit, this would be...

Will it fit? (Neck swap question)
I have a '69 RI CIJ Mustang. I love the guitar, but the 7.25 radius just isn't comfortable for me. I also have a Squier strat jack Jaguar HH, and the neck feels fantastic and is just easier to play. So now I barely touch the Mustang, even though I love the sound and the trem. I want to swap the neck...

They seem to be exactly the same as the Squier ones, read the review, the screws are too long. Warmoth used to have another version several years ago, where they put height screws in a Mustang bridge in 4 of the saddles. However, I am doing fine with a regular Mustang bridge with a higher E saddle,...

see, a naturally scuzzed up vintage guitar would always be of more interest to me than a mint one. given the choice I'd always buy a thrashed one over a clean job. If I owned a vintage guitar in mint condition, I would be so paranoid about scratching it that it would probably not get played much. P...

i don't understand why fender can't issue stuff at a roadworn-esque price but just finished in flat nitro, without that shitty relicing they do. they'd soon get bashed up. i know that's missing the lame point, but still. they did a fiesta red J bass that was lovely, but no way would i buy one with ...

Kurdtz jaguar now available without the relictz
Fender now offers the Kurddtz jaguar without the "road worn" relicing. Has a poly finish (I think the relic version is nitro?), and is $200 cheaper than the relic model. Left handed version is available, but is more expensive by ¢1. http://assets.fender.com/frl/7f9c0fc3ca8433824892766d9e3...

The other Squier VM Jaguar. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8074/8436099171_88a1dd0598.jpg Get rid of the fugly tort and put chrome on the pickups and the strat jack won't be an eyesore anymore. And haters are gonna hate the bridge because it's not a familiar design but it's rock solid, super adjustab...

I could live with the pickups on the Mustang. I think what really bugs me about it is the tuneomatic setup. I think I would be interested in the Mustang if it at least had a toronado bridge. The Gibson bridge/tailpiece just looks out of place on a fender. Even the rectangular strat hard tail bridge ...

My hyperbole aside, I'm sure they're both great guitars. I just don't understand why they would take a unique guitar like the mustang and turn it into an HH/tuneomatic guitar, which are as ubiquitous and as common as strats and teles. I'm sure it will appeal to a lot of people and sell well, but wou...
