Re: Wah
My brother owned a Vox wah for years. I say "owned", but he actually never bought it, he seemed to just acquire it from out of the blue and nobody ever asked for it back. I think he hated wah in general to be honest, but once he started playing with his covers band, he needed one and seeme...

Re: In search of the list cord
I have these flat jack cables where the cable itself is also flattened. I got them off Amazon a while back and just bought lots of them because they were cheap. But they're copies of Rockboard flatties. So they look kinda pro but they sure as hell aren't. I used to have a two full solderless kits bu...

Re: UK FX Expo on Sunday 19th June - over 20 UK builders
How was it?
I checked out the exhibitor list and I recognised far fewer than I expected, so I've been checking them out online to see who they are and what they do.

Korg Volca FM 2: The Sequel
The FM has had an all-round upgrade similar to the Volca Sample. It's gone from an original polyphony of 3 to 6, gained velocity sensitivity (when played with a controller keyboard), has doubled its presets from 32 to 64, now has a reverb effect that, I think, has parameters that can be controlled, ...

If these were full-on Cabronitas but on a Jazzmaster body, then I'd be in. In fact, literally this but with a Jazzmaster shaped body:

Re: Vintage Guitar Co. offers improved "Jag"?
I've seen these around online and wondered what the point of them is when priced above a Squier. I also can't really see how and where this improves significantly on the design? The break angle stuff was improved on years ago with those models that moved the tailpiece up the body to just behind the ...

Re: Boss RE-2 Space Echo (and RE-202!)
Honestly think it looks awesome but the DL4 MII is only £40 more than the RE2. Was holding off but deffo gonna sell my Keeley Caverns v2 and looper and get the DL4 now The DL4 is a modern classic, too, so the pricing looks totally out of whack when you compare the two. The DL4 MK2 is a pretty strai...

Re: Pedal power update
And from what I can see online, that case setup is all over the place right now, probably with exactly the same level of quality control. Sometimes it feels like a golden age for gear, but the proliferation of all this stuff means you still have to go digging for the real gems. Whereas in ye olde da...

Re: Pedal power update
Haha, yeah, it's really not something you want to get wrong. The only reverse polarity pedals I currently have are the POG and my Moogerfooger FreqBox, and I'm not taking any risks with them.

Re: Pedal power update
I've used polarity reversal converters on daisy chains and they've worked fine? If you need to mix and match anything that needs full isolation, you can still use the two independent outputs to do that if you need to. The thing that I've wondered about some of these new cheaper power supplies is how...

Re: soniccake Rude Mouse
I'd like to see a massive shoot out between every Rat clone you could reasonably get your hands on, but each one played with a completely different guitar and through a completely different amp for the most subjective and pointless demo video ever made.

Re: New Behringer synths
So people asked Behringer if they could knock up a power bank/mixer combo for all their mini synths and just pooped this out.
Apparently just a mockup so far but that's kind of cool if they actually do it (also has reverb!).

Re: New Behringer synths
One of the reasons I like the Volcas was the way that they just kind of decided "it's just going to be a box with a faceplate." and I thought that was basically as much actual thought they'd put into them. Seeing these, with the slope down to the key bed and the almost haphazard layout of ...

MOAR. http://bestnetworx.com/uploader/files/15/behringer-hirotribe.jpg So this is by the guy who designed the Monotribe for Korg, and features two analog synth voices and a drum machine in the new Behringer Not-A-Volca Spul format. Some sites are actually reporting the prices of these as £74 which I...

Re: Pedal power update
In fact, looking at the first one I posted that is identical to the £58 Thomann one, the Fame one does actually say on it that the 9v connections are isolated from the A+B variable connections, so that would suggest a common ground, wouldn't it? I have a multimeter somewhere but my pedalboard is cur...
