Squier VM Jazzmaster with mods

I recently bought a Squier VM Jazzmaster as a project. I put some time in with it last night and I think it turned out pretty cool! The bridge is an Invader that I put into a blank Jazzmaster cover. The neck is one of those GFS OEM blowout humbuckers they sold a few years ago. I had a set and put th...

I love the idea of this guitar, and now that I've seen your review I think I'd love the actual guitar too. I might have to get one of these. About a week ago I was actually close to clicking the buy button online, but I got a VMJM to mod instead.

I live in the Chicago suburbs, and the first time I saw a Kauer it was in the hands of Kate Moss in a little bar in St. Charles, IL. She was great, and after the show I went crazy on Google trying to find her guitar. I just had to have one! Then I found it online and saw the price........ I don't ha...

I was a Mesa person until I got an Orange TH30 a year ago. I bought it used and absolutely love it. I haven't had any problems, and the build quality is great. I've got to think the British made amp would meet or exceed the quality of my Chinese amp. Have fun with it!

The stock humbucker is really the only weak link I've found. The work under the hood was up to par with most of the proper Fenders I have as well. I love this crazy guitar.

Ryan Jarman Guitar Mods

I finally modded mine. I swapped the humbucker with an Invader and matched the single coil cover as close as I could. Great guitar.

I'm totally buying the white hardtail Jazzmaster and modding it Tom Delonge style. I might get the stop tail Jazzmaster and throw a Bigsby on it too. I can't wait for these to come out in the US. They're already available in Europe.

One other thing worth noting, these are routed the same as AV models. Without routing, they only fit Jaguar pickups, and only take AV pickguards. CIJ / MIJ won't fit. I bought a CP Jaguar HH guard, and it was plug and play after routing for HB's. YMMV with a CP single coil guard. Based on the above...

BTW, the online service from Kenny's was impeccable, with a certain Danny really giving me the quickest responses of any online retailer I've dealt with, pretty much all hours of the day. I agree!!! I just bought one last week myself. First I tried Thomann because international shipping to the US w...

I bought one of these earlier in the year when they were blown out for $199 by most retailers. I thought it was a great mod platform to build on and it's become a really fun guitar to play. I'd recommend changing the bridge out, but I do that with every Jag/Jazz bridge. I just can't stand them. You ...

I was in a band that was playing 2-3 shows a week and embarked on 3 tours from '01-'04, and the cases that held up the best for me were those ugly molded SKB cases and the modern hardshell Fender branded cases (I think they're currently made by G&G according to the markings inside). I've had a f...

My problem with the jag was the ground. I gave up after a while and skipped most of the switches since I don't really use them anyway. That was the only way I could stop it from humming like crazy. And I'm using the HH... Geez.

Everyone I know who owns a Reverend is one of those guys who owns all kinds of oddball stuff, and takes pride in the fact that it's unusual. It's hard to get an honest opinion from someone like that.

I've seen a few Reverend dealers in Chicago, but never tried one myself.

When Krank first started out, they had this crazy policy - if you didn't like their amp after a month or so of rocking with it, you could send it directly back to them for a refund. I wasn't into their sound or image (I think SLIPKNOT MOTHER FUCKER were their only endorsees back then) but I can't th...

Hmm. I was thinking that Marshall might be done introducing new products for some time after introducing the MA series, the Haze, and the Class 5 recently. Can't say I'm excited for this one, but I am excited that they're bringing some new stuff to market and taking some chances.
