Re: Epiphone Valve Jnr repair

DeoxIT D5 (specifically D5S-6) should be fine to use on pots. DeoxIT seem to think so, though some guys on guitar forums sometimes say it's still bad. It's a lubricating contact cleaner; most aren't and that tends to be the problem with using them on pots as they will dry out any grease or lube in t...

Re: New Behringer synths

Their VCS3 could end up being made of tinfoil and Twix bars and I’ll still be selling off all my little synth module toys to buy one.

Hope they do a CE-1 in that 202 style case, but then I suppose that’d be $400 as well.

yeah, I'm calling shenanigans on this It’s been in a lot of those history of Fender books and posted around forums like this for like 20 years. I remember people wondering wtf was up with it on JS and the early years of SS. The weird body shape around the forearm area was probably to cut the weight...

I’ll do it. No Jags, though. You can have a P90 SG or you can play [Hank Hill wince voice] bass.

FOR 100 DOLLARS YOU GET THE KNOBS AND LIKE SOME 20 DOLLAR LOOKING AMAZON PEDAL ATTACHED TO THEM!!! pedal colors.jpg Those knobs are going to be substantially smaller than the Bronco...

Martin Jenner died in 2003 and isn’t behind this petition. Whoever started it does not appear to be aware of this and has even mentioned, without a shred of irony, that they’ve gotten Courtney Love’s permission to start the petition (Courtney sold about half of her inherited stake in Cobain/Nirvana ...

Re: Kurdt's Jaguar...

lol @ “Kurt wasn’t responsible for the modifications,” like we thought it was him who dropped double DiMarzio metalbuckerz in it. Kurt may have bought the guitar directly from Jenner, as he responded to a “ask for Marty” classified ad for it out of the LA Recycler. Anyway, I don’t think it should sa...

Re: A plug: Timbre!

This is all Eric Johnson’s fault. Dude thought his Fuzz Face sounded better without the baseplate screws and that certain pedals have to be cocked at a 45-degree angle and elevated an inch above his board on a block of wood, etc... don’t know if he ever cited a specific benefit to this, just that it...

Re: 2022 gear goals

The MASSIVE picture that Kim posted above, it looks like there are two output plates on the side. What's going on there? I think it's actually a powered line out. I don't know exactly how their wiring or controls work but I do know that those Wal pickups have a separate coil pair for each string. I...

Re: Broken-caster $549

The crack coming out of the bottom of the 12th fret slot looks like a pro repair or replacement neck situation. I bet a few of the strings choke out or buzz like crazy when you play below the 12th fret.

Re: Home guitar-time setups

You shouldn’t have show-stopping latency in this day and age if your software is configured correctly/computer isn’t a busted-ass Atari. Try different sample rates. I can use one of these into Ableton/GB/Logic without issue. I also have an M-Audio M-Track Quad but I usually only use that for USB-MID...
