This is what I did too! Way better, I reckon.

(do you wax pot everything now? Do your family live in fear that you'll decide they're microphonic next?)

Re: Tone Bender

Thread here (with apologies for TGP content), but think that's a Mk1.5 circuit in a Mk2 enclosure (see post near the bottom). Which is good, because Mk1.5s are brilliant - I've got a Fuzzfaceless one. UPDATE: my Fuzzfaceless one is a Mk1. I'm forgetting my Tonebender lore. Lovely stuff, always loved...

Was racing towards the end of the thread to post similar advice, although I'd pop a delay pedal in the chain too.

Re: Done bought a vox ac30

Nice purchase Hurbert. Been a long time since I've done any more than skim over a Wattspost (I'm not getting any younger, I only have so much time left to me), and think he maybe pulled a "just kidding" in the middle around the 500 word mark, but the Greenback sounded pretty good in my old...

Re: The ultimate list of cheap copies of great pedals thread!

Yeah, there are some fucking howlers in that (admittedly, nine year old) list; like the very first one listed is wrong (although the Mooer Trelicopter is a Tremulator clone, if you want one). Is it worth adding a big "buyer/Pens Beware - this list hasn't aged well" banner on the first post...

What the actual fuck is happening to me?

(also, was that really Michael Gove, or am I entering into the gullible years very publicly?).

They've been like this in the UK for a while now Rob - reckon they maybe peaked early this year? On their way down again (because we have no money, and need to buy crossbows quickly for our impending Mad Max future).

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

Sub-£100, I reckon you'd easily get quite a decent set on eBay/thefretboard. Fender Fat 50s are stealthily brilliant, and match the pickups I was banging on about above.

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project

Yeah, the market's really shifted since I built my strat (pre-Brexit, Torygeddon etc). I was about to recommend Rose Pickups, but they're out of business now, plus importing from the states isn't viable any more I feel. Grey-bottom U-stamped Tokai pickups are the best strat pickups I've heard; my Ro...

I too saw these on (I think) Instagram. Was particularly heartened to see The Iceman (as I think of Freddy). And his angular 70's-design guitar.

Came in to recommend Ocean Turquoise as it does a lot of the things mentioned above, but just learned Fender didn't start using it til 1965.

While I still maintain that the shimmy and shake from the long string length is all part of the fun of the baritone experience, that certainly sondz kool.

Also, I have that t-shirt in the inverse colourway.
