Precise dwarf bravery
Guitars I've owned in the past:
Burns Marquee - Korea
Squier Telecaster Custom II - Indonesia?
Squier Stagemaster - Indonesia?
Current guitars:
Burns Batwing - Korea
Burns Nu-Sonic - China
Alden Chicago - China
Fender Jaguar - Japan
Danelectro - Korea
Korea wins hands down in this case. But it should be borne in mind that most of my guitars are pretty low end and production for many of them has since switched from Korea to China, most notably for the Danelectro and lower end of the Squier line like the Stagemasters (which they no longer produce but would deffo be produced in China if they did).

Good stuff, guys. I'm surprised at the amount of Korea made guitars. To be honest I didn't even realise the Schecter I have here (owned by my wife) was made there until after starting this thread. Here's a few stats after 26 respondents but hopefully we can get to 50 or so.
26 members
198 guitars
Average of 7.6 guitars per member
22/26 (85%) own at least one USA made guitar
19/26 (73%) own at least one Japan made guitar
17/26 (65%) own at least one Korea made guitar
Some percentage breakdowns of the total guitars by country
USA - 25.76%
Japan - 21.21%
Korea - 14.65%
Indonesia - 7.58%
China - 7.07%
Those five countries account for 76.26% of the total, which is even more impressive when you take into account unknown/parts guitars make up 10.62%.

Shabba.
after our conversation the other day James, I would be interested to see which factories these were made at as well as I know places like Samik in Korea and some of the Chinese ones make guitars for a number of different brands.

New Hellcat is the Korean I'm waiting on... it's been a bit over 7 weeks now! I had the same issues with shipping last year when I bought my Ultra VI; I can't forsee buying from themadape.com again. That said, I expect big improvements over the old Hellcat with this one when it finally arrives!ProcessedMeatMan wrote:Did you get your new Hellcat yet? I just got mine yesterday... I have others that I inherited, but don't know so well; primarily acoustics.
My Korean guitars are Schecters and a G&L, all great players, and my Japanese instruments are all Fenders, likewise great quality.

Yes it was.iCEByTes wrote:about i think Fender Toronado GT was made in Korea by Cort in Oem , amazing guitar.
samick made some top lines of Squier.
I believe the Lite Ash Fenders and Pro-Tone Squiers were also. There were some obscure ranges too like the Deluxe Specials; anyone remember the quilt top Cyclone and Toronado?
Always been a fan of the Korean stuff and if you had asked this question a few years ago they would have made up the majority of my collection.
