For all non-guitar instruments; mandolins, synths, kazoos, and anything else musical that doesn't fit elsewhere.

free minimoog anyone?

Post by lorez »

not an actual one but a virtual one. For today only, Arturia are giving their minimoog virtual synth away for free - http://www.facebook.com/arturia2/app_273259112707534

The confirmation page on Facebook stated that it might take up to 48 hours to get the code.

Give it a go to see, it was a 24hr only deal though

well, I think you need a plug-in host of some sort. like any DAW should do. or I think sloan posted the standalone version up there.

I played around with it a little bit. it sounds really great. I don't know much about moogs, their monophony is not quite what I'm used to though. On yamaha and roland keyboards when they're monophonic you can hold a low key and tap the high keys to jump between them and the low key. apparently, moogs don't let you do this?? you can only hold a high key and tap low keys, not the other way around.

the .exe is the installer that includes the 32/64 bit VST, and also the standalone version.

Also, yes the real minimoogs are monophonic, this plugin is polyphonic, but i'm not sure if there's a monophonic mode?

ok, I figured it out. when you open it, it is like in some sort of classic moog monophony mode that's kind of odd if you are used to modern monophonic synths. there is a polyphony switch on the right; switch it and you will be in a normal monophonic type mode, click on the "Poly" dialog box at the top and you can select more voices. it sounds fucking fantastic.
