Pickguard color for a black strat.
I sold my mofongocaster (my 1HB partscaster) a few months back, as well as three other strats that were stinking up my collection.. and goddammit, I bought one again.
I bought me a nice and cheap black Squier Delonge Strat (seriously, this is my third signature guitar from a player I can't stand), since a 1 hb hardtail strat is kinda something I've wanted for a while, and is close to what I had with the mofongocaster. But unlike the pretty stained ash body that the mofongocaster had, this strat is black. Black on black with a black pickup.
I could just leave well enough alone dress it up with a white knob. Or I can get colors!!
Let's leave it to a vote.
This is the guitar:
And here are the pickguard colors.
Green pearl... different enough
BWB... this and a white knob, and I got me a classy strat
Mirror. Now my cokehead friends can do lines off of my guitar!
White pearl. Boring, but classic.

Aye, green pearl. BWB would work too, but works better with a 2 or 3 pickup config than a single.

I notice the hole on the existing pickguard puts the volume control further from the strings than the aftermarket pickguards you posted. That would be top consideration for me (or if I had to buy one of those pickguards, I would replace the volume pot with a low-profile on/off round rocker switch like this:
Actually, these are through dragonfire's ebay site, and they give you the option of where the holy will be placed.Nick wrote:I notice the hole on the existing pickguard puts the volume control further from the strings than the aftermarket pickguards you posted.
