Cool in a wonky 'cat in the hat' acid trip kind of a way, but too pricey for most hippies and burners.

the only really nice thing i noticed about it, which really isnt that great is that the strings line up perfectly with the nut and the string spacing beyond the nut. which, in a way, is nice, but at the same time..... meh.

No surprises though. Have we already made all the possible variations? That was quick.

Bigsby guitars were designed in the 1940s; most Fenders were designed in the 50s, some 60s; most Gibsons were 50s, along with most Gretsch; and Rickenbackers were mainly from the 60s.

Explorers, et al are a novelty. Even the stylish Moderne looks like a broken Flying V (1958). BC Rich actually had somewhat new shapes in the 70s, then shit the bed, set it ablaze, and dumped it in the ocean. Boutiques all borrow or steal from the major labels. Mosrite (an early failure turned boutique) is said to have bragged about inverting the Strat design.

We haven't stopped modifying the original acoustic guitar shape, yet nothing else has caught on like mid century American designs. Think of how that compares to automobile designs (which got better, but bland). At the same time, the electric guitar and bass are some of the only instruments to change over time.

Frigging gorgeous, in a Jetsons kinda way, but I don't know about 'understated'.
