INC 1978 Fender Bronco
Saw this on ebay and seemed to be a good price so I grabed it. I will do new pictures when it comes in from Japan. I like the color and the wear on it. Cool color too. Only missing a tremolo arm.

Weren't people saying US-spec Mustang arms work awhile back?
Love the look of that thing

I have a US Mustang arm I can try. It isn't threaded though. Is the normal arm for one of these threaded or more like a Mustang or Jazzy arm?
I am psyched. It is a nice sibling for my Musicmaster. Their guts look so similar. The aging of the color is really nice. I don't use the tremolo often with guitars, but it would be nice to have just to see how well it works and to have the option. I will have to keep my eyes open unless I hear progress on that swap out part.
With shipping it was around $800 which seems pretty sweet. It would have been even cheaper, but shipping from Japan is pricey. Nice that it has all those stamps and signatures also. The serial under the pickguard is just like my Musicmaster.

Congrats! Mustang arm fits like a glove. No threads. There is a set screw that holds it in(I think that I may have posted a pic in another thread?). Probably why so many arms were lost over time.

I saw that one on ebay and it's gorgeous. Nice pickup. My Bronco is red and I think the vintage cream with black is smokin' hot.HNB wrote:The tremolo system seems so interesting. I have wanted to try one out and this one just looked like it would be fun to play. Couldn't resist.
The Bronco Trem is the first trem I really enjoyed using. With the Mustang, you get a nice smooth dive. The Bronco trem feels like half Strat-half Jaguar. (It has the spring like a Jag)
My Bronco came with a modded Strat arm and it works really well. The key is getting the thing setup properly. Not sure if mine has .10s or .11s on it.
It sounds almost identical to my Mustang bridge pickup, but the trem gives off this metallic tone that is subtle and smooth. Great for quick warbles. It's a shame Fender never put them on other guitars.
