custom straps

Post by Chris Fleming »

My ex is doing a fashion technology course at the mo and has discovered the college has a laser cutter and is going to use it to engrave some leather for her projects. I asked if she could run off a few guitar straps for me, which she's up for. I'll see how it goes and show y'all the results. Should be pretty class

Any ideas welcome

seriously though, there's nothing i would wear except floral, or quite basic repeating patterns. it has to be tasteful and not too visible. these floral and weave designs are nice, not the dumb american and barbed wire stuff

Yeah... don't think Richard Branson is the way to go.

Was thinking along the lines of the floral ones or a repeating pattern. I'll have a think about it. See what's doable. Was thinking it would be nice on darker leather with very little contrast between design and strap. Quite fancy doing some that only have a design at the ends perhaps with a different coloured swede liner? Nice and grippy ken

i think a choice of suede backed for gripping neck heavy guitars is always a good option, but maybe a smooth backed option as well. i dunno, all depends on your options. plus i personally like quite a narrow strap of around 2"-2.5"

Aren't these designs on a leather style strap like preassure-stamped with a punch ? or whatever the correct term is.

^It's known as "dodgedartdaving" west of the rockies

This to me sums up the diversity that is shortscale.org btw

And the obvious answer is a combination of the two
