Limited Edition Fender Bass VI

Post by HNB »

Just came in the mail yesterday. Very nice guitar. My first Bass VI. Weight is pretty good. The color is great. As I understand, the bridges on these are more like the original. (Big looking Mustang style.) I was excited about this because I can use it as a bass or guitar depending on amp and settings. Very cool looking guitar.

First guitar I have had with a JD serial. Must be the newest ones?

The originals had 1" plate bridges with Jazzzmaster/Jaguar style saddles (later they cheaped out and just used guitar width plates); these are kinda upgrades from the originals. Wish the Squire and Pawn Shop used these bridges, rather than the narrow guitar bridges they chose to go with (like the cheaped out later originals).

Sweet looking VI; they're great niche instruments... You'll have a tonne of fun with it :)

Thanks! Can't wait for the kiddos to be a little older so I can spend more time in there. At 4 and 5 they are too little for me to trust on their own. LOL

So Fender are currently making 4 different Bass VI models?

Custom Shop, Fender Japan, Pawnshop, and Squier.

That's gorgeous, man. If money was no object that's the Bass VI I'd buy exactly, just to not have to change anything about it.

As it stands I probably won't be buying any kind of Bass VI :(

It sounds really good. :) Sounds neat with my effect pedals also. Sweet with fuzz.

We all only get 1 pair of hands though, so it has to be a law of diminishing returns at some point? Anyway...back on topic, nice vi. I'm seriously loving my squier version, even more so since I upgraded the bridge to a staytrem. Enjoy it.

All the ones recently have been trades, Punk. Just shipping costs. This one I did extra work this past summer saving for it. :)

Thanks! I can't get all my stuff in one shot easily because of the room shape, but the collection is pretty good. I would say 90% of what I have I have no intention of selling. :) Too much good stuff. :D

SneakyT made me a really nice tortoise pickguard for my VI. I wanted a nice red tort since I got it, but was lazy and kept putting it off. I was lucky enough to have him make me one. It fit perfect and has the vintage angle cut. :)
