Harley Benton Bass?

Post by lorez »

I was looking around for a cheap bass and while looking at the squier VM jazz basses spotted this for £100

Any thoughts from people on either the bass or Harley Benton experiences?

no idea about that particular bass, but ive got direct experience of their 5string modern-style bass, and their 7string Floyd-equipped guitar. both badly needed setups, but they were built well. pickups were better than i expected in both cases. main problem on the bass was the nut. it was cut too low on the Gstring, but i think more recently all the harley benton guitars n basses are from different factories maybe. the whole line has changed since those ones came into my life. for the better probably.
if i cant smoke and swear, im fu**ed

My friend bought a cheapish bass and as far as I could tell it was pretty good apart from the nut being set too low on the E string. He complained a couple of times and ended up getting a practice amp for free and half his money back.... I'm guessing by the looks of that thing that it could be pulled into shape with a few tweaks and wot not.... pretty
