Keep an eye out for an Ovation Preacher

Stereo outputs, glued AND bolted neck, similar goofy 70s lines and highest grade workmanship for probably around the same price you'd get a Sonex for.
Oooooh, dig it matey;

Pretty rare though it'd seem :[
Yeah I just checked...used to be they could be had as low as 350...now it seems you're lucky to find one for under $600. Still exceptional value compared to what you'd get from Fender or Gibson for the same money. Ovation electrics were top tier USA made boutique stuff in their day.

it's a '70s kimbara(?), apparently. the guy's been trying to sell it for aaages, either that or it sold and is now being punted on.

also, a boy selling this '94 ibanez talman for £350 (although i guess it's pretty much a strat):

and a guy selling this for £275 ono. it's the one with the cool teisco del ray-esque headstock (not this guitar- it has a stop tailpiece. couldn't get the link to work):

I don't know why but this is cracking me up, it reads like a Chris (Simpsons Artist) sentence

That Kimbara(?) is pretty nifty, although I feel I'd need to have a broadsword on my back to fully pull it off.

Yeah, it's pretty cool, it looks like an East European copy of a Yamaha SG-1000 or SG-2000. It probably isn't though.

Just follow your heart, Doog. Buy it, and then when you're done with it sell it to me.

Lozzle, it's a bit too much for me Freddo; you have at it.

Just realised how much I like the first model of Jet Kings, gonna have to keep an eye out (maybe even when we're in the US), I think this is the strongest contender at the mo:

Nice choice Andy....probably a good idea to buy one while they're still rare yet cheap....they seem to be holding their value quite well.

I remember liking the few I've played, however the unfinished neck felt too affinity strat like in my hands. Given the aesthetic, I feel the neck should have been finished the same as the body.

Yeah but the Jet King is obviously cheating. It's a perfectly well manufactured modern guitar that probably plays and sounds great. They just made it look a bit kooky. Like that Fender Pawnshop series of monstrosities.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up dude; I'm not too fussy when it comes to such things (my main Strat thing has the satin-y Jagmaster neck) and often enjoy something totally different so it's not really a downside for me.

Too bad all the other models don't quite do it for me; gonna have to scour the globe now.

DUDE AND 'DETTES: IF YOU SEE AN IBANEZ JETKING JTK1 FOR SALE ANYWHERE PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :D
