Jooky guitars

Post by meltedbuzzbox »

Hello all,

So I am about to potentially trade my rosewood tele for a Jooky jazzmaster.
The guy is first rate to deal with and I really like the look of particular model.

What I was wondering, do any of you guys own a Jooky? If so what do you think of it?

Is this the guy that buys cheap bodies and necks off eBay then covers them in buckets of wank before selling them on for huge profit? He's always a bit vague about where bodies come from.

Much as I quite like it over at thefretboard.co.uk, I always get a distinct THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES vibe around these guitars.

The 80s MIJ Fender you mentioned in the other thread? Don't do it because that guitar is much cooler and worth far more than these.

Never heard of these guitars or that site.

What do these cost?

He starts every paragraph with "Well".

He's grasping at straws.

Scoring decently cheap bodies are probably the easy part, but I'm guessing that scheduling the master artist behind the unique finishes (between naps and feeding times) would dramatically limit actual production numbers.

This, a lot. Didn't spot the edited first post. Do not do it. You'd be swapping a £750 guitar (on a bad day) for a £200 guitar (on a good day).

Being able to put a guitar together ≠ luthier/guitar maker.

This is the guitar I am looking at.

Parts wise I think the guitar costs more than £200. Ultimately I want a nice jazzmaster, and I never play the rosewood tele.

I get what you guys are saying with a lot of the finished Jooky guitars. I would say the jazzmaster is an exception though.

Should I put the crack pipe down?

Do what you want man, it does look like a cool guitar, but you gotta know your guitar is worth way more than his.

Maybe tell him you'll do trade plus cash(from him).
