Blimey

However I feel like those Infantrymen that reached the top of Hamburger Hill.

We did it, but at what cost?

Everything looks off to me because of the shrunken bodies. Look at this:

I'm all for Fender making as many short scale guitars as possible, but I just want the range to be normal guitars, with a short scale option.

a powerful Guild® “Anti-Hum humbucking bridge pickup
so yes, made by guild, but not sure why anti-hum is given inverted commas like its an unusual concept for humbuckers. i mean i guess its the model name but feel it's probably not something thats distinctive

HLYSHT I've been wanting something like this for years. But I agree that they look wrongly proportioned. There was no need for a much smaller body. Wonder if it'll be 24" or 24 3/4"? Either way I hope the necks are conversion necks and can be put on any Strat / Tele body.

So Fender has finally made its own short scale line of guitars and basses, cool style except for the Tele's big ass; I hope they will also play well (that black Strat is fascinating). Any summer news about Squier?
-Guitar: Squier VM Mustang, Squier CV '50 Duo Sonic;
-Amplifier: Hughes&Kettner Blue Edition 60;
-FXs: Dunlop Cry Baby GCB-95 Wah, Boss BD-2 Blues Drive, Proco RAT, Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo, EH Small Clone, MUZA FD900, Bespeco Volume pedal.

Ohh, I didn't see there were actual product links. Sadly that means I'm not that interested anymore :( If it were a full-size, 22-fret guitar I would be. But the Strat just looks like a glorified Squier Mini or SX Hawk 3/4. The Tele is attractive, but I'll still take a Jag or Mustang over one any day. Meh, maybe I shouldn't knock it before I try one.

why would someone want a 24" neck on a bigass regular guitar?

mustangs are small
duo's are small
music masters are small
bronco's are small
super sonics are small

one of those guitars made bigger with a 25.5 neck would look fucking dumb. just like a full size telecaster with a smaller neck on it would look dumb.

the 30" bullet bass is smaller than the 34" bullet bass because duh.

....Jaguar? Jagmaster? Toronado? (I know that's 24 3/4", but still) IMO just because it's a big body doesn't necessarily mean a shorter scale neck will look stupid. It all depends on how it's made. Mustang / Duo / MM / Bronco bodies feel like toys to me and I'm not even a very big guy. I'd still own one though because I love how they look. On the other hand, that Strat looks like a kid's guitar.
