Jaguar Wiring Question

Post by Thomas »

I have a jaguar with a regular neck pickup and a splittable humbucker in the bridge. Does anyone have a wiring scheme that would work with the first 2 switches being on/off as usual but utilising the 3rd bass cut switch as a way of splitting the humbucker instead? I'm not using the upper circuit on this guitar at all.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It shouldn't be too hard if your guitar already has the rhythm circuit disabled - take the humbucker wires that are taped together (these will either be the coil start pair or the finish pair) and solder them to a middle lug on the switch. Solder the corresponding bottom lug to ground and you're done. The wires coming off the pickup switches should bypass the coilsplit switch and go straight to the volume. Something like this-

Your Jag is gorgeous by the way! White-on-black Jags/JMs kill me every time.

I like to make these by wrapping painfully thin wire around braces of magnets.
For the good of mankind.
