What's up with that big old hole in the neck in the last picture?

Are you talking about underneath? Looks like marker on a sticker.

That is exactly what I am talking about but I looks like a hole to me - sticker you think?

I does look like a hole but if you look closely you can see a thin line of light hitting the edge closest to the camera. I'd say sticker.... Might be covering a hole though?

I had a MM neck before that had factory magic marker ID on the sticker on the heel. It had bled out with age and looked very similar.
