Post by Rox »

Stupid question... I know .. But I'm looking on getting my 3rd Mustang over the week.. A Dakota 65RI. My other two are a KC Mustang and a 69RI .

Seeing that my Fender Mustang is my favorite guitar I think everyone should own at least one. Three of them would be a Mustang hat trick!

I think barring heavy sentimental value you'll probably see a day when you feel you don't need the 69RI, but at least they all have something different going for 'em.

I've got three and think its too many, but I'm terrible at letting guitars go.

Yup gear hording can be bad. I have sold over 12 guitars in the last year.
I found a great one that made the rest feel a bit pants in comparison so I have been selling them all off recently.

but if you are happy with your lot keep em. Its not doing any harm

Buzzbox, which guitar is the keeper that inspired you to sell off 12?

Rox, which 10 are in your current arsenal?

I only ever sold my first guitar so as of 3 months ago I have 16 guitars. People ask me how many I have at parties and work and stuff and my hourglass spins for awhile. They start to laugh because they think me mentally running down the list or finger-counting is a really well delivered deadpan joke (or some attempt to "call" me on it, OH SHUT UP, HOW MANY). Shit's embarrassing because they do just accumulate and it's not like I roll around going "can't wait to get home and play them 16 guitars". Literally trip over them. Jazz Bass G-string tuning peg rocked onto the light switch and flipped me into darkness as I shut my bedroom door the other day.

That sounds like a really cool collection. I love how you have the Ultracure and the Porl Thompson.

dude, rodvonbon had literally dozens of comp orange stangs in addition to his other stangs (including gun-stang). i think he sold off some, but he's still a-ok in my book, horde of stangs or not.

I have my Mullet-Stang and Fender Bronco.

If you ever have a shot at a Bronco I highly recommend picking one up.
