Thanks. I love the '69 aesthetic but much prefer the slab body of the '65, so this is me having my cake AND eating it. The wait to play it is killing me, but I'm having a lot of fun doing the refinish.

Not too into the comp stripes (blasphamy I know), but the refinish looks really well done. Very tasteful.

Looks great so far.

These re-issues are really nice.

Gotta wait a week to finish up (then wait for it to cure).

While I wait for lacquer to cure, does anyone know where I can get a pickguard to fit MIJ '65 RI in mint green / cream?

Well... I guess this could be a good excuse to get a mini router!

Still waiting to wetsand and buff. Threw some pieces on to see what it will look like. Considering cream pup covers...

Thanks. Pleased with it too, just getting sick of waiting for the nitro to cure.

Haven't thought about that film in ages. Saw it in Switzerland when I was 15. Great one!

I like it. I don't know why, but for me it works better than comp blue.
While it clearly is a bit of a tribute to aged blue compstangs.
Incidentally, are you just going to rock out as is or get a decal for the headstock?

Thanks, I love the aged blue look. Yes, that was the inspiration, though I've always loved Sherwood green too. The vintage white stripe gives it a bit more individuality.

I have a decal ready to go. I'll wetsand and buff next weekend hopefully, then get the decal on and put it all together at last!
