MUSTANG HH - new mod

Post by Mr_Martin »

I put a Duncan Designed Distortion in the bridge wired in parallel mode (like my Jagmaster).
I removed the neck pickup and covered the hole with a photo of a humbucker.

Awesome. The black-on-black single coils look kinda cool with the polepieces showing. That "pickup photo" of the humbucker still makes me chuckle though.

Where do you guys find these pickguards btw? Going on past experience, there's so much variation (especially with Squiers) that it's a bit of a lottery to say the least when you're trying to find one that fits. Maybe I'm just lazy in not wanting to fill in and re-drill screw holes, but projects like this one make me insanely envious...

Couldn't stand the hum of the single coils. Here the new mod:

Neck: Alnico II (parallel wiring)
Bridge: Duncan Designed Distortion (parallel wiring)
