recommend me a guitar less than £500 to get my mojo back

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

ok update on the guitar. Plays well but the bridge pickup can get a bit unruly with its quacky nature and sound. Neck pickup is lovely. With the Fender bassman the semi acoustic jangles also need some tempering when playing on my own but I imagine it would cut through more if I was playing with others. Finish seems as good as my previous CVs and happy with the hardware. Tuning stability is good. Only two weeks of constant play but let's see how it lasts over the coming months

also now want this

I find that I need to adapt to any guitar and still I think "Ok. This is weird, but people play it for ages. It'll grow on me". But then I pick up a strat and instantly think "Yeah, fuck that guitar. Why do I have to struggle with all that dumb design shit when I can just play this".

not saying its a bad thing, just it took my head off when I pumped the bassman volume up and hit the overdrive. Needs some taming on some of the frequencies with an OD. Sounds lush on a fuzz, the semi hollow adds overtones that the fuzz loves

How’s the middle position? Finding myself playing there most of the time of my Jazzmaster(s) these days.

it's really good but I'm sitting in the neck position most of the time. I think it's because I play on my own and its a fuller sound so feels better. I would imagine if I laid down some drums, bass and other instruments I would need it to cut through more and move more to the middle or the neck
