A few findings...

I've contacted the store to see if they'd offer a discount.

The guitar itself feels like a good pair of worn in shoes, very familiar feeling and solid. But some things need to be addressed.

The trem arm sits very loose, i like mine to stay put, which means i'll have to get in there to tighten the collet.

The strings are not the 9s these ship with from fender, the rythm switch is dirty, scratches on the input jack, a dent in the back of the neck, then that thing underneath the fret, let's call it a hole, it's a hole, i've seen it before on guitars but this fucking sucks for an instrument at this price.

The accessories pouch is also missing, they've put the stuff in a plastic seal bag. Reasons to contact them. I don't want to return it i think, i love how it feels and plays.
But i am mad at the store and fender for such flaws.

Sorry to hear about all the problems :(

Re the trem, the underside of the panorama tremolo is different from the normal ones:

I assume it's still possible to tighten up the arm though.

Yes indeed, i'll be slacking the strings removing the plastic so i'll get in there and adjust the collet tension.
I've seen ryan of 60 cycle take it apart when he got his, i guess there's a screw in that block on the collet to adjust it now.

I've contacted the store with pictures of my findings, i really, really, really, do not want to send it back, i love it, but...i do expect a discount for what i've found (usage -- they sold it as new -- and sloppy quality control both from fender and the shop).

Gorgeous looking guitar, congratulations!
I'd say it's been sold before and returned to the store, and then the store has sold it on again rather than send it back to Fender. Hopefully you'll get a nice partial refund and everyone's happy.

How are the new V-Mod pickups?

versatile, prefer the q pickups '58 ones on the cv for a more vintage surf sound and was using the kc jag for heavy distorted and fuzzed stuff etc, this one covers a lot of ground and i've been experimenting in amplitube, i enjoy playing it much more than the kc jag, neck feels great.

Jealous, it's been 13 years since I bought an American Fender with all the trimmings. That fret slot though... annoying, even if it affects nothing.
It should have a document that says "PASSPORT - Fellowship of Acoustics"? Whut?

Wonderful lefty! Sorry to hear about the issues, it’s pretty crap from the shop/Fender, and hope you get what you want from them. Beautiful guitar though.

Thanks Thom.
No response from the shop yet, they sell b stock items with pictures of the instrument itself but this one was definitely not advertised as b stock.
It did have 14% off of Fender's retail price but that came down to pretty much the same as all the other shops' pricing for them.

It looks great, but that hole/fill attempt on the fingerboard is pretty unforgivable. I suppose it probably won't have any real-world impact.

What happens if that fret lifts in a few years time?

some sounds

Am Pro II starts at 0:49, before that is a squier CV JM with q pickups '58.

I used exactly the same input and amp settings on the CV as on the AmPro (basic fender twin reverb in amplitube 4)
