What else is there to do when you have Covid?!

Post by Thom »

Well I finally succumbed to the old ‘Rona, testing positive on Sunday and after a pretty miserable 48 hours I’m feeling much better today - so I took the opportunity to sort out my pedalboards! I’d coincidentally got a second PT-Jr on Saturday with a view to setting up a separate “permanent” board for the JVM at some point. So here’s where I ended up:

The Bassman board:

The Mini board:
This is essentially the board (minus the ODR-1) I used with the Orange at our last gig (covers for the work party) in Jan 2020 - plenty of synth and chorus for those 80s vibes!

Has been a satisfying day!

Amazing! At some point I want to have two "permanent" boards for my two projects, but that's a way off yet.

SD-1s aren't usually that colour scheme, right? Looks classy.

I hope you recover swiftly from Covid!

Thanks guys! Feeling much better today.

Freddy - yeah the SD-1 is the 40th Anniversary version that came out last year. No difference, just flipped colours. Pretty sure a few places still have them.

Your boards are always so neat! I need to spend the money on a pedaltrain at somepoint.

Get well soon, Thom! Is ODR1 a harder clipping OD than SD1?

Thanks mate! Yeah, I love the pedaltrains, highly recommend them, just makes everything easier.

Thanks sunshiner :)
Good question, I think I’m right in saying the ODR-1 has both hard and soft clipping diodes in the circuit. It’s probably got more gain on tap than the SD-1 but isn’t harsh at all, and I use it usually mid-gain. It’s got a lot of bottom end so is pretty fat/smooth sounding.
