Which run of Jagstang is that one from?
i got it christmas 1995
I picked up one of the New Mexican Jagstangs and was amazed how much lighter it was compare to the Sherwood Green Jagstang I used to own.

If it was sherwood green, maybe someone used their own piece of wood on it.

I know you don't actually care, but truss rod adjustments and proper nutjobs aren't about TOAN and M0J0; it's about making the guitar perform properly and stay as tune as possible across the neck, in the way that you'd configure and maintain any tool.

But I know that you don't care so it doesn't matter

Maintain deez nuts.

I didn’t have to make any adjustment to the nuts on my guitars when I switched from 11s to 9s, but all bar one needed some truss rod adjustment and all needed to be properly set up.

Every time it goes from 30% humidity to 35% humidity, I have the fretboard pleked.

You could do all that, or you could just toss your guitars in a bathtub after you get home from the gig. What would teh kurdtz do?

I can just see ernie bailey right now meticulously shaving microns off of teh kurdtz nuts so he could put piano wire on there and then smash it into a million pieces 2 hours later.

Yeah, but he probably did because he's a professional guitar tech who makes his living and reputation doing this, and not a rock star

The March 1995 issue of "Guitar World" magazine mentions Kurt sent out 4 new, stock, Mustangs to be routed for humbuckers (32). Three were sonic blue and one fiesta red (41). The way Earnie modified these guitars is as follows:

First, the nut had to be cut for heavier strings
, then the neck shimmed for a better bridge angle

oh wow, wouldya look at that.

Kurt was ADHD as fuck and him destroying guitars was rather a manifestation of his condition than his conscious choice, and the habit cost them as a band a lot of trouble in the early days as left handed guitars are even now few and far between and back then they were almost nonexistent. Trying to convert a newly bought shitty right handed guitar to play it left handed every other night had to be a giant PITA, as most electric guitars need a lot of modding to make them any playable. Even when they got big, replacing the smashed left handed guitars was still a PITA

…and more. It’s yellowed a lot since the paint job a few years ago. Has not been outdoors during winter, that would cause a spider-web lacquer disaster.

I can confirm, converted right-handed guitars are dogshit. My first guitar was one of these:

There were no lefty guitars that I could afford back then, and when I first started I was just trying to play right-handed as that's what absolutely everyone always suggests. Plus I was 13 and didn't really know that left-handed guitars existed. I read about Paul McCartney needing to flip his guitar over to left handed and it allowed him to finally be able to play, so I tried it on this guy, and found out that was what I needed to do also.

Man, this guitar basically made me hate so many things about guitars. Maple fretboards, strat style, single coils, tremolo bridges. It had them all, and I still hate those things today. Playing an upside down righty fucking sucks.

One of mine does that even indoors in the winter.

Yes, being a right handed, I've tried to convert some guitars to relearn left handed and they were the epitome of uncomfortable.
