All your gear, ever.

Post by Nick »

Not sure if anyone else does this but a couple of years ago I started a google docs file for every piece of notable gear I've ever owned (excluding pedals I've sold, for now) to help my memory of events.

I've never done one for amps or pedals, but I've got one for guitars - it's long though. I'll try and dig it out.

I don't think my lists would be as long as any of yours, but then I tend to hold onto my guitars. So my list of currently owned would be pretty long. (probably 30 odd, dunno, half of them are still with friends/parents since I moved to England).

My list of amps is much shorter, because I've always seen them as more like a white good.

Which is kind of strange, because I own my absolute dream amp that is special to me (engagement present) and that I'll never not use, but I know that I'll pick and choose between a stack of guitars depending on what I need for a particular purpose.

I pointed it out when it came up for sale, but never mentioned that I grabbed it.

The fucking case actually had a bedbug along for the ride, which pretty much offset any chance of it being a cheap guitar.

Wow what a strange specimen- weird case too. Sorry to hear about the bugs- that’s awful and now I have a new fear of buying guitars on marketplace.

Still got the ones in bold, they are in sort of chronological order, starting in '85 or so. The amps are probably missing a few. The list will change a bit soon as I'll be getting rid of a couple of items.

I've still got all but one of the guitars I've ever owned (so it's a good job I've never owned as many as NickSD :D). In chronological order (to the best of my recollection):

Yamaha SG200
Unbranded Les Paul copy
Fender Jaguar
Epiphone Dot
Squier VM Jaguar Bass SS
Squier Venus XII
Fender PS Mustang Special
Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar
Fender CP100
Squier Venus
Squier VM Bass VI
Squier Paranormal Cyclone

Currently got two amps: Marshall Class 5 and Vox Pathfinder 15R (got no need for anything louder these days tbh).

60+ pedals, which I thought I had listed somewhere but can't find atm.

I think you mean NickD! I've got almost all the guitars I've ever had, though a Spanish guitar my sister made in woowdwork class seems to have disappeared along the way and I think the total is around 14.
Unknown 60s Japanese electric.
Butchered 60s Eko Cobra (unusable)
'73 Stratocaster
'69 Swinger
60s Baldwin Burns Double Six
2000 Flying V
Tanglewood acoustic
2008 USA Stratocaster
Texas J-bass
Modern Player Maruader (Chinese Fender)
Mike's old Hondo II Les Paul copy
Mini Stratocaster (from someone on here, currently at my daughter's)
Epiphone EB0 bass (played about 3 times but still in my collection)
My father's Spanish guitar (trying to ditch as my wife has a better one she doesn't play)
My son's 90s? Squier Strat (Roland GK3 equipped)

Do you use the GK pickup? If so, what do you have it connected to?

I have a Roland GR55. For the soul band I use a Clavinet synth patch, a semitone detuned Telecaster emulation patch, a sitar emulation patch and some other patches that apply effects to the Squier's own pickups. Needs a better bridge pickup as it currently has some feeble humbucker there.
