Despite it being joshhatesgaysskott. I really enjoyed looking at all of these. Should be a museum collection now really.

The presenters weird looking at josh while playing hot riffz, was super uncomfortable/hilarious.

Yeah, his affiliation with the "Ihategaypeople" church isn't cool.

Honestly, fuck him. Nothing makes me feel more "all I need is my tele, my cable and my amp" than that fucking chump.

He made a video about the Bad Monkey and now it's expensive. Lmao. A four knob tube screamer nobody cared about which you could buy $30 used is being sold for $200.

It's so sick... It seems like I missed something. Is there anything it can do that it couldn't do before? I had one once and wasn't so excited about keeping it....

I say this knowing I’m part of the herd, but guitar dudes can be such sheep.

I don't think there is. As far as I remember it was like any other tube screamer, nothing exciting.

I owned one briefly in 2007, I replaced it with a Nobels ODR-1, which at the time was on equal footing (about $40) to the Monkey on the used market. All the pedals in that Digitech series just looked goofy, who even cares how they sound?

That Digitech series was trying to recapture the magic of the old weird DOD pedals as I recall? Some of them were actually direct reissues? And they were all perfectly worthy back then. As worthy as any Boss pedal, anyway, surely?

The reaction to this is pretty fucking nuts. And it's not Josh's fault (as much as any of us would want to blame him....).

I actually have a (now broken) DOD FX53 "Classic Tube" and I remember comparing it to a friend's Bad Monkey and they basically sounded the same (through the standard college practice room amp which I think was a Peavey Bandit... Yeah, push those tubes!). Wouldn't shock me if they were literally the exact same circuit. I mean, I was 18 so I didn't have the most sophisticated ears back then. What was funny was the guy who owned the Bad Monkey wanted to swap it for my FX53 because it was older... And I didn't want to because I thought the Bad Monkey looked fucking silly.

Guitarists are idiots, basically.

Guitarists are the worst and the ones that like pedals are perhaps the worst of the lot.

Except maybe the ones that like SRV

I've been back in the market again for all sorts of shit and the Bad Monkey is now 300 bucks. I had one, it was a bad version of the TS-10 which also is jacked up to infinity because fucking Johnnie boy Mayer happens to like it, not even run it on a board, just did an interview and said "this is the TS I like over other ones".

Apart from the SRV fan boys, pedal nerds can suck my ass :P
