N(ish)GD - Player Telecaster Limited Edition

Post by Ankhanu »

In August, after getting the Bass VI I just posted in Shortscales in March, I took advantage of Long & McQuade Fender Month sale prices and 0% financing and got myself a Telecaster. I've had an Aerodyne Telecaster since about 2007, which I love, but I've been wanting a more classic Tele all along as well, and this fits the bill nicely. 7.25", vintage frets, nothin' special standard tele pickups and switching, it fits the bill, and it's fuckin' pank!
It plays wonderfully, it's restrung with d'Addario EXL115W, it sounds like a Telecaster... what more is there to to say, really? The Player series has a fairly solid feature set, reasonable price... it's gigged a couple times, and it's been recorded already. I dig it!

Pics aren't working for me, but this is the modern equivalent of the Baja, isn't it?

I'm also an Aerodyne owner and one of the biggest regrets I have is not buying a Baja for £350 or whatever they were back in 2009ish. One of the only guitars that I still really, really want.

We have similar tastes, it would seem!

Hah, awesome.

Tried stealing via imagur, might not like the direct linking. Set it to public, if they don't load now, this is the post http://imgur.com/gallery/fenders-2024-pLbriJm

A couple differences to the Baja; Modern C vs Soft V, AlNiCo V vs Broadcaster and Twisted Tele set, 22 vs 21 Frets, classic 3-way vs 4-way and S1... but I imagine they play similarly overall... I remember trying a Baja back in the day, but couldn't dredge up memory clear enough to properly "compare"
