Well. If you like it Tim, then I shall have to retract my irony. You are after all a dedicated follower of fashion sirbenecol wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 4:23 pmOnly one so far I've liked.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
Just checked if Sire made a goldtop, they sort of do. But it's not wraparound, and the finish is less gold, more metallic-pish.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
They do, but you're more likely to find a Burny one. It's variously labelled as a 54, a JB or a Jeff Beck model. Black or oxblood. Humbuckers on the latter two models mind.Progrockabuse wrote: Thu May 08, 2025 11:04 am If only they made a tokai like this…… love wraparounds on a p90 les Paul.

This is one of those moments where I shouldn’t have sold your tokai to Dave

I got a sire P bass a couple of years ago and it is top notch.Progrockabuse wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 12:02 pm I’ve seen some of the sire stuff and I’m quite intrigued.

Oh? This is relevant to my interests! Which one?Thom wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 8:01 pmI got a sire P bass a couple of years ago and it is top notch.Progrockabuse wrote: Wed May 07, 2025 12:02 pm I’ve seen some of the sire stuff and I’m quite intrigued.

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
It’s a P5, I got it from Anderson’s as a “2nd” for about £250 I think. There is the tiniest paint chip by one of the ferrules on the back, so a total bargain.Bacchus wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 9:15 pmOh? This is relevant to my interests! The neck is lovely, satin/natural on the back and gloss fretboard.
Re: After some new guitar inspiration
Lovely. That neck nearly looks like roast maple?
I've read good things about the pickups. £250 is an absolute steal!

Re: After some new guitar inspiration
Yeah it’s roast maple and the pickups are great! Honestly can’t fault it.

Might take a plunge on one of their gold top style ones.
Though I quite like the new Les Paul modern lite in Gold Mist.

This. if you were in USA I could get you a new one at a steep discount as I have an artist realtionship with them.
SB55 or a t64 maybe? 486 or 486B? Other optionsif you want something different but cool guitars are the Juliets. I am heading to their Pomona, Ca warehouse at the end of the month to pick up a new acoustic.

Thanks for all the responses, especially the heads up on your jag Andy.
It’s all dependent on how many birthday pennies I receive. Might be a slow burner until I have enough funds.
Keep stumbling on cheap tokais but they are the non MIJ ones.
