Hiwatts have something to do with a certain british music shop that has a reputation for taking Marshall amps, changing a few parts, and then selling them as original Plexis.
They are shady at the least. They also sell "vintage" instruments.
Do a bit of digging. There is quite a lot of it mentioned on the Plexi Palace forums. They have shops in Leeds and London, and there may be a M, and/or a G in the initials of the shop.
They have been known to send lawyers at people for mentioning this stuff you see. Plus I like the cloak and dagger stuff. Take it all with a pinch of salt, but there has been rumours for many years, and some evidence.
