Tweed Jr.

Post by ultratwin »

Sort of.

I got myself a new pedal case from that shop I frequent. Sturdy plywood with a nice tweed job and good stitching, I'll probably cover the base of the red felt with some black office carpet. It has a movable partition and a few strips of tacky red velco to boot. $65 is a heap of bones, but them Cha-neeze did a great job on the fit and finish.

Straight outta China & in the shop:

Back at home... A few minutes before the li'l ones discovered the new jungle gym. I might have a scratchpost nightmare on me hands if I'm not careful to stow the thing away. They gots the need for tweed.

Looks like you can put a strap on it as well for slightly easier carrying.

You've got a BBE too? I love mine. Made the biggest tonal difference out of anything I've bought.

Is it as green as it looks?

I like it a lot, even more so if it was less green

I think that's a photo from the shop.

Yeah, it's a shop pic and not some new ultrarig, and I had to use a shoulder strap when fully loaded.

That looks amazing. WANT.

$65 is very fair considering what stuff costs over here, I had to pay ?100 for my pedalboard.

I was gonna accuse you of being a Tubescreamer guy until I realise that wasn't your gear...

Haha. I hear ya. I'll see what it would cost to ship surface(less kaching) if anyone here would like to have a go at a tweedbox.

I ran the Moollon Bassdriver really hard (Vol max/Tone max/dist 11:00) into the EGDM last week and had a brutally throaty Marshallesque roar with heaps of midrange, but a stupid amount of string clarity that managed to puke its way through as well that reminded me of a short affair(about 9 1/2 weeks or so, really) that I once had with a TS-9 toobskweemah into a bigger gain deal. I almost smiled at it all and thought of getting one again just for the muscle.

Butcha would never find me with two on the board.

I think I'd build one before buying on innit.. I can see their use as a gentle breakup/booster but I can't stand how they honk up with full gain and hump a-humpin' as it were.

I have a tubescreamer that I got used at a pawn shop for like 25 USD. For that price, I do use it on my board for light overdrive. But I don;t personally get where it get's the reputation it has. I will take my SIB varidrive, MXR wylde overdrive, or my voodoo lab sparkledrive over it any day (even though the sparkle drive suppossedly uses the smae basic chip design I think with a clean knob added in)

My boards pretty big, well built and only cost me 45 quid delivered, now I just need more pedals.
