I haven't seen one of these before. That's some sweet innovation from Curtis Novak and Co.

You know, I haven't even gotten to the pickups on some of my guitars yet. I have no idea what I have. Even after I finish building them, I have a feeling I will keep tinkering.

Kinda like a more horizontal XII/P-bass puppy..

Very interesting, I'd look into them but fear it'll cost a whole ASSLOAD.

Shortscale's on a Novak kick today! I want to get a Telecaster just to put one of his Charlie Christian pickups in.

Have you ever seen the "z-shaped" pickups on G&L Comanche guitars?
they look like the one you posted, but are offset in the direction perpendicular to the line connecting the pole pieces, like a Z - two short staggered parallel singles...
