Relicing is truly one of the dumbest things the manufacturers have come up with.

Besides the Pete Wentz signature bass....

in the frusciante-covered guitar player (or world? - where he did the satan/christ thing) from some months ago, there was a review of the strat-type of those (aged and all) and it was great all over. might be worth giving a shot.
