New Colors for Jazzmasters coming?

Post by westtexasred »

Any truth to the rumors of new custom color Jazzmasters to replace the colors that have been discontinued?I read a post on the Offset Forum about the possible release of a 1959 JM RI:

"I'll know more when I actually get the prototypes, which should be any time now... or so I was told by my inside. From what I am told there will be the expected WBL and Sunburst 59s.

As far as colors, I have heard some very cloudy rumors. Nothing more than speculation. One being LPB... this rumor seemed to have a little more weight behind it. The other VERY cloudy rumor is that the Shell Pink idea was floated around. If that happened I would flip. In a good way. I wouldn't get too excited yet regarding pink. I was just asked "what about a shell pink Jazzmaster?". Take a guess at what my response was.

I would bet almost 100% those colors were mentioned as a couple of new 62 color options.

All I know for certain (well, 99.9%... anything can happen) is that the 59s are happening, prototypes are coming to me (here real quick I'm told) and that when that happens I am going to devote a couple of days to playing them, disassembling them, photographing every square inch, measuring the pickups, and making a full spec and tone report exclusively on this forum (and our website, of course). Any other for sure info I have will mos def be shared"

the '59s are supposed to be thin skins and only available from certain dealers.

i bet the thin skin 59's will be just as much as a later 60's early 70s jazzy.

Shell Pink 62 AVRI FTW! Fender made Shell Pink AVRI Jags with matching headstocks in the 90's but they sent them all to Japan.

Aye, for the love of Pete. On behalf of the unspoken cringers, I implore ss.org participants to not make regular usage of that image when implying robust penile engorgement largely due to guitar-based stimuli.
