as per the casino in question, white pearloid pick guard? normally i hate pick guards on 335'ish guitars (and i hate pearloid too, that was the first thing off of my supernova), but for some reason i think it would look right on that guitar.

From what I've heard, before Gibby bought Epi, Epi was their main competitor in the hollowbody market, and some of their hollows are still considered equal to or better than Gibby.

dude, old news. gibson bought epiphone like in the 50s. I don't think there are any models left from pre-gibson days. but yes, epiphone has their own unique guitars like the wildkat. a confusing thing I've heard is both that the es-330 is based off the casino and that the casino is based off the es-330.

I'm talkin' 'bout right now, tho... From what I've read, the epi hollows currently are very damn awesome. And yea, both of those guitars are suspiciously similar.

The Casino has always been a well known guitar for being one of Epiphones more unique guitars. Unlike a Les Paul or 335/Dot, the Epiphone Casino isn't just a lower quality version of some Gibson guitar.

Or at least that's how it is these days. I haven't done much research into the 50's, but I think that's pretty inconsequential since the 330 isn't made any more, and now can't be found for under a couple grand.

except maybe a gibson es-330 but it's not clear which one was made first.

woops, I replied to your unedited post. anyway, the casino's popularity is completely due to the beatles. if they played es-330s the current state of affairs would be reversed.

The Kinks and The Stones played Casinos too. It was a very popular "British Invasion" guitar.
