out of all the single pickup-volume-tone guitars out there, i like this one the best...

i like the gretsch junior body style better than the LP style...its got more curves.

I fully endorse your purchasing and rocking of this.

I prefer sunburst on jrs, though - otherwise the top looks empty and sad

I agree, those look awesome. they're pretty cheap too. sunburst is so boring compared to all the sparkledy gretsch colors though.

i've been fairly unimpressed with the electromatic gretsches, but the japanese made ones are fantastic. particularly the duo-jet.

The new cheaper series of Gretsch since Fender took over are better, but that's from the older series. Those were all over ebay for $100-115.

I think Nick also had a different model from the old series, and he didn't like it at all.

I just added that cause a couple people on here and on some other forums I post on have the new ProJets, and they like them alot. It seems they really bumped up the quality with the newer budget line.

it said
With a list price of $325, I’m happy to offer these at $175 which is very reasonable for a quality starter guitar – but these will arrive with our in-house setup and, seriously, good enough for the accomplished guitarist.
which is kind of expensive.

Yes that was me who had the synchromatic series Duo Jet....it was alright.....I paid $220 used. I'd compare it to a bolt on epi in terms of quality and feel. I returned it when one of the tuners just snapped off in the gig bag. I realized all that glitters is not gold. It sure looked the part though.
