Jazz Bass now with more wood!

Post by plopswagon »

I was going to wait to start this thread but this room is a little slow so I thought I would go ahead and start.

I am going to be building a Jazz Bass based on this bad boy:

though mine will be a bit more on the early 60s style. slab fingerboard, dot neck, truss rod adjuster on the body end...
this will be my first neck build.

I was going to use the good old fashioned Fender single action trus rod but then someone on the talkbass forum pointed me to this double action rod:

Before I build the body I am going to stick it on this old thang. I need it for a show in July in NYC. eventually I will "restore" it to its former glory, when I bought it (1988) and abused it you couldn't give away a late 70s pbass.

i think he means the neck will temporarily sit on the p-bass until he get the jazz body.

Here is the wood I got for the neck, just something my brother had lying around... with the truss rod.
