Hmmm. Yeah, I'll probably wait until I can get a Jazzmaster for the P90 love. I am still having fun with the humbuckers, although I agree that single coils complete the look better. I'm pretty sure the pickguard is original though (and was cut for the humbuckers), so I'd have to keep that around.

If I wanted to get some vintage-style single coils for the Jag, what would you guys recommend?

jazzmaster pickups aren't p-90s. that's a common misconception.
as for replacement jag pickups, there are a few options. avri (fender american reissue) pickups are decent for the price. seymour duncan also makes a few different jag models including the antiquity line, which are supposed to be exactly like vintage pickups. and curtis novak makes handmade jaguar pickups, which he will custom wind to your specs.
whatever you do, stay away from japanese reissue pickups. they're utilitarian at best and really won't be suitable for your vintage guitar.

I guess this is how I should introduce myself, with my guitars.
My main guitar, a left handed mustang purchased off eBay.

Third electric, my first mustang.(plus rig and Ibanez)

But hey, welcome along to the forums. Please excuse the positivity, eh? That pic of your tort Mustang almost looks surf green, which is of course, the colour of kings.

EDIT: Please note, dear reader, that this post is meant to come across as slightly arsier than it actually reads. Please add your own bile.

Everytime you post that (which is strangely often) I imagine you wearing a monocle and a tophat.

HOGWASH!

It's fun to say.

Welcome Silly Rabbit - always nice to have another lefty round here.
So what's the score with the righty Mustang? Just fancied a flipped guitar?

At least it's not Green and Tort

Since that picture was taken I have changed to a Mother of Toilet Seat pickguard on that guitar.

Oh well, it just looked wrong to me. So I got a MOTO pickguard loaded with Duncan Anti-Cuties on it in there. Sounds brilliant now.

Around here, "Tort" has normally been referred to as "pizza vomit" and on that guitar, it really did look like it.
