Try out the guitar, see if you like it, then decide.

Jag-stangs are heavy, poorly balanced, and don't sound all that good.

+1

As an investment it might be an alright move, a JS will retain higher resale value and you may even be able to immediately turn a profit on eBay.

The guitarist (and JS owner) in me screams "no wayyyyy" though, as I'm sure the HH Jag is more versatile, comfortable, probably sounds better, etc... If it's your only guitar I definitely wouldn't do it.

For me, it depends on which jag HH. If its the japanese hard tail one, I'd do it lickety split. The Jag-stang beats the pants off of the CIJ Jag HHs Ive played. If it's the new CP jag hh, i might do it, but Id have to play the JS. The neck on Alfredos JS is sooooooooooo niiiiiiiiiiiiicccceeee!

Go for the Jag Stang. I think it's a great player and has great tone. And they are a rare item

Definitely play the JS for a bit before you trade and consider the condition of the guitar if you plan on selling it.

Also check on eBay to see how much each guitar is going for right now.

here's how i see it; the owner of the JS is getting rid it for a reason... definitely play it first.

yep. play it on your rig if possible before considering the trade. if everything checks out, it's a win all around.

to me it is even
the jagstang is a little more of a conversation piece
the jag is probably a better guitar
so i say- do whatever you feel like doing on this
I would have given up already if it wasn't for the impending revolution!
