I think I am going to get it and string it upside down. Any reason I shouldn't. Not too many knobs in the way.

do you have to put a new nut if you want to string it upside down, or can you just flip the stock one?

That could definitely be played right handed. Just take out the switch, and wire a rotary switch for the pickups, with the other knob as a master volume. I don't think that knobs would move around too much under the right fore arm. Maybe I'm wrong.

It is cool though, and a good price.

I don't know flip the nut, then try and adjust the bridge and saddles to intonate.

On a Fender style guitar, you could just flip the nut, as the Fender nut is regularly shaped. On something like this, if you flipped the nut it would likely be pointing the wrong way. Gibson style nuts usuall slope away from the fingerboard towards the headstock. Could cause intonation problems or open strings would be out of tune.

The bridge wouldn't be a problem. You could just swap the saddles around, but I'm not sure you'd even have to.

I played one of those at guitar center the other day. It was right handed but it played surprisingly well.

I just didn't think I was man enough to rock it.

Was this close to pulling the trigger on it when a little voice in my head said, "You fucking idiot, you are having hand surgery on Wednesday and you are going to bring home a left handed girls guitar and try and explain it the wife." So I went out and scored the Guess Who greatest hits and the Best of Lightnin' Hopkins at the used CD store.

Back to reality time.

We can't all be ends.

The world would be a much more fun place if you all could be.

Some fingering about at NAMM confirmed that for me as well.

Judging by the volume pot placement, a Southpaw Venus would make a great palm sweater sweller for us righties, I imagine.
