I read you got now at least 7 or 8 guitars maybe more. How about do a riff or solo and record a great song and use guitars instead of making and selling them?
I find this sentiment very odd coming from a guy who switched over from Nirvana to the Pumpkins like 3 years ago and owns a few DiMarzio'd Mustangs and a Corgan-approved Strat, though still expressed interest in the KC signature Mustang that came out like a year and a half ago. Is this what you meant by "grew up"?
Is it forbidden to have other thoughts than you? It seems so.
Dude.

You told some guy he's a Kurt fanboy who wastes his time building/selling guitars, and then very condescendingly that that's fine if he doesn't want to grow up like you did (and apparently by that you meant trying to write rock songs with heavy solos in 2013). If anyone here is being an elitist it's you.
Why are you commenting in a SHORTSCALE GUITAR PROJECTS forum that people need to knock off all the SHORTSCALE GUITAR PROJECTS?
Would you have told Leo to knock it off after his 7th or 8th prototype? "Ok seriously, how many designs with bolt-on necks and pickguard-mounted pickups are you planning on making here? I have read that you don't even play guitar."

Well it's not an exact replica like I have stated its just a tribute/inspiring build. I'm not painting the headstock, using the same bridge, pickup, pickup ring, position of the control plate, and the route under the neck pocket.

I sold this to a cool guy locally. But no worries, he's going to finish it. And I got him to join the ss community. (Mike129) hopefully he will take over the thread.

Indeed. The Schaller is pretty pricey and I already have all of these parts. All I need is the body. No sense in spending anymore money. Just need to get that made, paint it all (probably will do myself so it looks shitty and home did like de kurtz) and then put it together. I'm gonna use Krylon Ocean Breeze or whatever it's called. Should work nicely for this color. Then I'll paint the headstock plain jane black. I'll have to white dot the other side of the neck too. I'm thinking this was a reversed headstock 80's fender neck that he recycled in to a lefty neck. Makes most sense.

Shit. I forgot to photoshop the control plate. Also, what do you guys think? Just a regular ol clear knob on there or something different? Post a link of what you think it is.

Also, I like traditional Mustang knobs best with the control plate.

The bridge is a mighty mite I think. I found it on eBay. Nothing expensive but pretty nice quality lol.

Yup, just searched for mighty mite hardtail bridges and they're less than $30. Have been thinking about a hardtail Jazzmaster project. Would def consider using a bridge like that (although a Toro bridge would be nice too).

Are you getting a new body routed by Cooterfinger?

There are plenty of them on ebay if you search for a hardtail bridge. They are made in China, cost like $5 - 10 and the shipping could be free to Taiwan

I asked Earnie Bailey on Facebook about this particular guitar. The neck is from Chandler and the body he (Kurtz) built himself. Apparently he made three of these bodies.

Look forward to seeing the end result.
