No one ever said that, at all. I know that I had a little beef with hotrod about my mustangs(kurdtz apparently), and that hotrod also said and this is a direct quote "sell it to some kid with the kurdtz". That's about the closest to anything nirvana related in this thread.
Also I don't recall any one saying that he can't do it, just that he shouldn't do it. (read that other thread at j, I was curious. I'm glad I never signed up over there.)

I can't believe this got to page 6 before Malik wisely suggested concentric pots.

If you want independent volume/tones, get concentric pots and the lined black knobs used on some Jazz-Basses. Looks mostly stock, gives you everything you need, is easy to reverse. The switches can be modified for neck/both/bridge rather easily.

ALL OF THIS IS SIMPLE, CHEAP, AND REVERSIBLE AND ACCOMPLISHES MOST OF YOUR GOALS.

As for the contours and colors, live with it or buy a different body. A painted body shouldn't be more then $250 TOPS.

exactly what i said. i have the kurdtz more than anyone else here. i listen to bleach every week, and have it all on my ipod all the time. this guy was being a douche, and i suggested he get rid of it to someone who would appreciate it for what it was, and not fuck it up.

when did having teh kurdtz become a bad thing? i thought it was a sickness a lot of us had, it was our choice whether it proved to be debilitating.

SRB: you're the one who took it personal. i am way jealous of your guitars, but it is what it is. i don't think less of any one person if they own 3 of the same guitars, just with different pickguards/colors who are exactly like someone elses who died and was very likable.

Well I understand that I did take it a little personally, it just seemed like you were mocking me. But it's what ever, I don't think any less of you, that one first post was just a joke.

gotcha. not mocking you man, real cool guitars. but if you style yourself so closely after someone as debated as kurt (by guitar/mod choice) just don't jump up someones ass so quickly when it's referenced. it's all in good fun, but do you really care what i think? probably not. so let's just keep our panties ironed.

I care about the shortscale community's opinions, up to a certain point. But I don't wish to become another kurt jr. I agree.

thread sucks
do what you want, advice is layed down to you, doesn't have to be picked up

i think the idea of it is awesome, it's just not practical and won't be too useful live/recording
for a "bedroom" player, get you a cheapie and mod the fuck out of it
hell, get a jagmaster, those are MADE to be modded
not this, it will hold value in years to come
an investment sounds pretty lame at 15, but thats what that thing is
