All the guitars you've ever owned

I started playing in the late 90's and still kinda suck today.
After seeing a video of Smells like teen spirit my dad bought me a copy of the cassette.
I borrowed my friends SG for a month learning starter songs. Than decided to buy my own guitar.
In 2001 i think, maybe 2002. For my birthday I got my real guitar. A shit squier affinity strat, i say this b/c the neck radius was so thin. I still have this guitar and once I get a new neck it will be played again.
After having a guitar for a while and becoming kinda good and hacking led zeppelin songs, I bought a bass.
My first bass was a Homebrew P Bass that some guy make that needs redone also. It had a monster thick neck.
My next guitar was a fender telecaster, which i need another of. From the standard series, after I switched the bridge out I was in love. The guitar worked for me. But my more like for led zeppelin made me want a Les Paul.
So I traded in the telecaster for a wine red les paul epiphone.
It was a good guitar, until everything went wrong on it, plus it was heavy, really heavy. It got retired at a band practice when the headstock snapped off.
In the fall w/o a guitar, my buddy vince sold me a 1960's teisco guitar, with an sg body and 4 of those squeely pickups. for 40 bucks. Which worked good, it had a good neck. This also needs rebuilt.
That winter with a lot of change in my pocket, i bought a classic player jaguar, and never looked back. At this point no guitar could ever replace it, and the only addition to the family would be a telecaster, a duo sonic, or a new p bass.

That name rings a bell. Theres a columbus mustang copy near me, blue finish, black guard and jag trem.timhulio wrote:No this is all CIJ Jazzmasters ever. I had a Columbus LP briefly that had fakey humbuckers.
Neck is abit shit though.

Started playing when I was 9, have gotten way better than in '99, but in the last couple months have not improved.Mike wrote:You're 16 this year.Josh wrote:I started playing in the late 90's and still kinda suck today..
it is 2009.
Assuming late 90's you mean 1998, you started when you're 8 (?!) and you have no aptitude for the instrument?
And sublimedo, i mean't the neck at the first 5 frets was cramped, too cramped to play anything.
At least it's vaguely close, sonically- that LP just sounded like a shitty Strat but I was too young to know better!timhulio wrote:No this is all CIJ Jazzmasters ever. First guitar ever was a Harmony hollowbody I bought at a yardsale for $5. My ex-bassist currently has this.
Then I had a teisco bass that got stollen by a dude named Brian Pollara.
While having these instruments I put almost no effort into learning them.
Then I bought a Squier P-bass with teh intention of learning, but quickly discovered I didn't enjoy playing bass.
Eventually I ended up with an epiphone LP special II with a stupid skull and anarchy symbol on it, free from ex-drummer.
(He was trying to get me to learn guitar for the band.)
Then... I bought the MIM duo-sonic that would eventually become the Franken-sonic.
Owned a burst jagmaster for a week, hated the finish, the pups, the guard and the trem. Used the neck for frank, sold off the body.
Traded in the LP, which I hated, for an eastwood Hi-Flyer, which I love.
Bought a rogue shortscale accoustic, which is unbelievably cheap but I love.
Then I purchased a '51 on a whim for $70 only to discover it's a great guitar. Knocked Frank out as my go to guitar.
Bought a Gibson Les Paul body which I just finished loading.
Sold off the P-bass (which was used maybe 3 times) and the Franken-Sonic (which has had the hell played out of it) to Jimmah.
And finally bought the Teisco Mustang copy off of Hotrod that is now code-name Kali.
Next up... Squier M-80 when I track one down affordably and a Telecaster of some sort. And at some point... a jazzmaster. Preferable the Mascis sig.
