Shit you guys, I didn't realize there was so much conversation on this.
THANKSSSS!!! I tried SO MANY fucking things, and then, as usual, I just reduced the whole fucking scope until just the big bad bear remained.cobascis wrote:The is the best box design for a pedal I have ever seen. I would buy it without knowing what it does because that polar bear is so sick
Well then you'll like the rest of the album, too! Can't wait to let it out.Thom wrote:Ben79 wrote:Thought NeverCats was great too.
I really hope this catches on like The Great Destroyer did. It seems like when we do something really far out and brand new, it either kills, or it kills us.gaybear wrote:that was my thought too.NickS wrote:Bloody hell. I'm expecting to hear this all over the place in the next few years.
amazing pedal

Cool, so you could set this up to effectively make chords from a single note that you play into the box, that then comes out as a really quick repeating sequence of notes (kind of like how tapping sounds like chords). Can the sequence be reprogrammed on the fly without stopping the effect?aen wrote:Like, imperceptably fast, and as slow as you can tap your foot.BacchusPaul wrote:How quickly or slowly can it play through the sequence?

Interesting effect, not something I've seen before. Is this done with a PIC microcontroller or Arduino or something else? Does the software do the pitch shifting or is that bit analog? I'm very tempted to get into Arduino stuff to test it's application in guitar effects. Like this cool kit:
ARDX starter kit
Aesthetics-wise, I don't like the 8 bare LEDs poking out of holes in the enclosure, or the stick-on label, but the bear design is cool.

First run will be screen printed. Possibly all of them.timhulio wrote: Aesthetics-wise, I don't like the 8 bare LEDs poking out of holes in the enclosure, or the stick-on label, but the bear design is cool.

I have one of those, did a Physical Computing module last year at school and used 2 in my final year project; dead cool little things.timhulio wrote:I'm very tempted to get into Arduino stuff to test it's application in guitar effects. Like this cool kit:

So, Im jizzing my pants over some of the shots I got for a music video on Wednesday, but I can't show you yet. Like, literally can't because I've got to clean out my computar so I have room for the files.
So I put some of my test shots together, cause they are also cool.
I'm using a Panasonic GH2. These shots were all taken with a 50mm Nikon lens. And I will not lie, this was also conceived as hype for my PitchGrinder.

As ridiculous and immature as this sounds, the Pitch Grinder genuinely accounts for a good 57% of my daily motivation in jobhunting. It's roughly 43% depleted savings/impending rent, 50% sequencing pitch-shifts and 7% bear.
