The CD/DVDs they have are very cool though, demos and videos and clips and that.
Pfft. Guitarist is pretty good. They've shown interest in many Eastwoods and other more left-of-centre guitars recently. Guitar Buyer is good, too. Cheaper and without awful tab that you probably won't ever play (if I see another AC/DC or Led Zeppelin song tabbed out in full, I'm sending them a letter-bomb).

That amp has way too many buttons. The whole channel switching thing is played out. I rather have a regular old school style Marshall.

multi-channel amps ftw. what's the difference between having a gaggle of knobs on bits of plastic and metal on the floor OR a bunch of knobs on your amp? it's the same thing but less to carry.

I like simple amps, and simple pedals. The only kinda wacky effects I like are Flangers and Vibes. But almost all the fuzzes I have are pre-historic designs.

Erm. No.

It entirely depends on the player - personally I need at least three sounds (Clean, Crunchy and a Heavier Crunch for leads) and would love having 4 (Clean, Edge of Breakup, Crunch and Heavier Crunch).

And I love Marshall EL34s.

Horses for Courses - I hate fuzz pedals - how'd you like that shit?

it's all preference, and multi-channel amps are no more "played out" than stomp boxes are, regardless of how archaic.

And it's made for people who gig, not bedroom heros.

with four different tones available, i'd probably be going something like: clean, crunch, heavy, solo.

that's what i do now anyway. . .

Yeah cause EVH needed 4 channels and alot of switches and a huge Pedal board, Fuck outta here with that. People been playing for years without 4 modes on their amps. I guarantee the majority of people that own that amp are Bedroom Posers because sheer production numbers would dictate that, So eat it.

Yeah, if they sell alot that means everyone is playing them in their bedrooms.

What a load of bollocks.

The majority of guitars and amps aren't played by constantly gigging musicians, it's just sheer numbers and I actually read that in a survey. That doesn't mean some of these models aren't in the hands of working musicians but I know lots of people with Mesas with complex features and that just play at home or jam with their friends.
