lol @ that

I don't trust sellers that make their auctions private. That's only ok if they are selling sex toys or something.

as rare as people make those out to be, there sure have been a few of them on ebay in the past year or so.
i'm actually surprised that the bidding is up so high already. i wonder if those are all legitimate bids. these things usually don't go for much more than $2000.

I don't like maple hardly on anything, only on the occassional tele or strat where my eyes have gotten use to the ugliness. On a jaguar, with big black markers, not so crazy about that.

Have to agree with Justin. Black on maple = Ewwwwwww!

fran, you just lost so many mojo points with me it hurts, honestly.
from a builders standpoint and i bet you would agree, that its easy as pie to do inlays on a dark wood, you can fill it with dust and epoxy and it looks the same,
MAIN REASON why gibson chooses to use ebony when doing trapoziod inlays.
with maple, its a bit hard to make it blend properly.
thats why i have strayed so heavily from finishing tracings tele.

Yeah i understand the craftmanship involved but from a distance it looks like a 12 year old kid has drawn black inlays on the neck with a marker pen.
The mojo is immense..agreed...but, it offends my eye.
