STrat XII BONARS

Post by aen »

OKay, so you may or may not know that I pretty much can't stand strats.

EXCEPTION BEING THE STRAT XII!

I picked one up at the sucky music shop, because it was the coolest hting they had (excepting a left handed tele standard fro $200!!!!!) and I ended up rocking out HARD unplugged for like ten minutes. Fuck man, I want a twelver now. I bet thats the coolest one out there. Its Japanese, glossy neck, vintage tunars, all that good shit. And string through on the "standard" 6 strings, for SUSTAIN FOR DAYS.

I'm pretty sure that if I ever attempted a twelver, I'd end up hurting myself somehow.

I was sooo close to buying one of those in Burgundy Mist....but I bought a '72 Tele Deluxe RI instead. I don't regret it for a second.

dude, do you know how fucking impossible it is to find a vintage electric 12 bridge?
i srsly looked for like 4-5 weeks on probly 14 diff sites and a few parts dealers, they are fucking extinct.
the only time you will ever see one is on ebay, and they go for like 300 bucks.

rob, in the '80s the strat xii used electric xii bridges. then the venus xii did in the '90s.
i have heard you can still get those bridges in japan, but i'm not sure if that's true.

you can get everything in japan, just not here.
i thought the venus bridges were slightly different.
i remember the maruader 12 that they did in the 90s had the same bridge.

Electric 12-strings in general are hard to track down. You've basically got the Jay Turser Hawk, the Dean Boca, Strat XII, and then the Rics. I don't think there are any under $280, actually (which is lame).

I know a 12-string has been on my list for a while.
