Should I get an AVRI Jazzmaster?

Post by Kurbis »

I really want one. I can afford it but is it worth the money?

I've been thinking about buying some pedals or a new amp instead.

I would have said yes, but then they got rid of ice blue metallic... then they got rid of the rest of the awesome colors and I think you can only get sunburst white or black now... not bad colors, just not good enough of a selection for that expensive of a guitar.

get one, never look back.
you can score a nice used one for around 900 if you just wait till the time is right.

dew it. jazzmasters are the perfect guitar. no matter how much I want to like my other guitars more, mine is #1 in ease of playability and sheer rawk tones

as a builder i respect the different techniques and modles, not always the price that they charge(gibson/prs)
but i always have a respect for a good design.

I love my AVRI Jazzmaster. I wouldn't buy a brand new one though. I don't think the price of a new AVRI warrants the extra cost over a Japanese one but if you can get a used AVRI for $1000 or less they're fantastic. I paid $900(eBay) for my 2002 Sunburst AVRI.

I buy and flip guitars like a man posessed, but I'm never selling my AVRI Jazzmaster - it's just an ace guitar. And while the CIJ's are good and excellent value, and the AVRI's aren't such excellent value, they are better.

Do it. Do it. Do it.

All right, I guess I'll get the Jazzy.

I don't know if I'll be able to find a used one though.

I tried an AVRI and a J Mascis signature in the shop and I liked the AVRI a lot more.

DO IT!! Seriously, I bought one (Sunburst), and I loved it so much, that I bought another one in Ice Blue. I had to look a long time for that one...

Also, used is the only way to go. Why pay new prices if you don't have to? Plus, you can score a better color in a used one.

My sunburst is my #1

Also if he's thinking of buying a new amp, he should do it. Having a good amp is better than a good guitar, EVERY TIME.

tru, a good amp will make just about any guitar sound LOADS better.
but on the other hand unless you are serious and gigging out then a nice 700-3,000.00 amp in not needed.
i know a fellow selling a very versitile amp for a really cheap price.....

I'll be getting it soon, it's new but I'm probably going to get a discount.
