Noho Mercury - arrived.

I got the Mercury today and have had the chance to play it a bit - lots more to go, but here are my first impressions.
The guitar itself looks great - I really like the design, and the colour is fantastic. The parchment pickguard works really well. The decal is really well designed - I think it's brilliant.
The neck is flatter at the back than most necks I've played, but is comfortable. The headstock does not look too big, and sits well with the rest actually.
The pups are lower output than any of my other guitars which is fun and different. They have to a good amount of bite to them and is sounding pretty sweet through a slightly crunchy Orange.
Bad bits...the box was pretty beat up in transit, so there are a few dings on the back of the guitar - nothing major and no dings on the front, so lucky on that front.
Damn import tax - £90...arse. Bit of fret buzz, but I'll fix that when I have a minute.

Overall - is nice to play - different from anything I have already, so am happy.

Think that everything has already been said about Noho and the time it has taken etc., so lets not go over that again.
Am glad I stuck with it and that's what matters.

I like the bridge and the sliver of colour between the pickguard and the end of the neck.

thats real nice, it's like a duo-sonic had a threesome with a morsite and a danelctro and then had babies.

i like it. the headstock goes better than i thought. overall, it's like a futuristic duo-sonic. awesome.

was there a prototype with a 6-in-line headstock? i'm curious how it would look, just for comparison.

There was an early prototype where they stuck a Mustang neck on it...there's a pic somewhere I'm sure.

The headstock logo is cool. I like the slanted end to the neck too, looks cool and the only strings you'll go that high on still have the extra frets.

Its a bit like my Jackson Surfcaster. I like it, its quite cool how the pg cuts over the fretboard at an angle.

I like it, really nice guitar. The logo seems a bit off center tho'

I like it in theory, and lipsticks are fast becoming my favourite pickup. However...

The ghetto string retainer is a bit poor. The fact that it's like the one on 60s Hagstroms doesn't let it off.
The body shape- especially on the upper horn- should follow the pickguard shape (which is great, btw) more closely.

I like the non-matching headstock with the plastic tuners. Be nice if it was back-angled so the string retainer wasn't needed.
Bit 'meh' on the knobs. Maybe those white mustang knobs would work on this guitar.
